Moto duro on my 450 KTM..you know the feeling you prep all week checking everything then check again, well got to the event, set up signed in and walked the track which was s reverse run from last year,

With these events there is an extreme short cut route which on todays course saved you about 1/2 mile..

everyone was saying dont do the extreme routes there to difficult and you'll loose time, so i walked the track to see what the fuss was all about...first extreme section was a large steep sided ditch, when you went over that you were faced with steep descent to a fallen tree about 2ft in diameter.

any way back to you prep all week etc..bloody bike wouldn't start, kick or electric, so the race started and my group about 40 riders were at the back, i tried kicking the beast into life but no good, so two spectators gave me a push start, so great, dead last, all the field had disapeared.

anyway battled on doing all the extreme sections, which were only bad when some numpty tried them and blocked your line...

first race over decided to see where my mate had come, he was 5th in his class, and low and behold i was 2nd.yes 2nd, couldn't belive it dead last to second on six laps...

second race same thing bump start, bit further up the field this time about 20th off the gate, by about 3/4 of the first lap i had a huge lead, mainly becuse the riders in my class weren't doing the extreme sections, anyway 4 laps in ,following another rider through a deep long rutted section he stalled...arrrrgggghhhhh causing me to stall and end my race..

bike just sat there upright all alone, eventually getting towed back by a 4wd quad bike..

One of those IF ONLY Days..

great fun though...
oh yea and i still feel super fit from all this montainbiking
